Las Vegas: look in my rearview
"A Bloody Mary, Please tell me at the stewardess that I look on the side of the plane with my eyes shining. I'm not a big fan of alcohol on a plane, but after spending the last 4 days in Las Vegas I covered a lot of things that I normally do. I guess that is what is expected in a place he affectionately calls himself 'Sin City '.
Thinking back to my touchdown to McCarran International Airport, I remember how I was edgy. Nervousness not kind of nervousness that I feel sometimes waiting in the waiting room of the dentist, but rather than sleep-on-Christmas-morning. I caught my luggage hand and stood in a long line of business and tried not to let my feelings get the best most zealous of me.
After we collected our luggage through the turnstiles, we went outside and greeted our first car in Las Vegas! We are mounted in the cab and was taken on a journey of 20 minutes through or if the neon signs of the magnificent Las Vegas. I always believed that things that make a stay memorable are the people you meet and how you go. I was sold on the idea that this taxi driver was either an actor or a tourist guide. Each light on every single building has had a history … and this guy was not afraid to share.
We checked into our hotel, and for the first time, I could catch my breath and really take all in. We had a room with a view, although this view was air conditioning ducts, but just looking out the window which is stationary was just I just had to collect my thoughts. Las Vegas is a lot of things, but one thing is not dull and boring. I could not do anything I wanted done, but the things I do are dead-on accuracy than I expected it to be.
It seems that every hotel in Las Vegas that you stay in a sort of game Hall. Whether the top of the hotel online as the Bellagio or the Wynn all the way to smaller more Inn on the other side of the tape machines, its all about sound, waiting for the next competitor to deposit their money and pull the arm. In our hotel, it was no different. We had to pass the casino floor to get to every place we wanted to go, a marketing strategy very ingenious. We find a seat at the bar and had a drink while listening to two guys trying to discuss the best way to play pocket 3 out of position in the Texas Hold 'Em Thurs
I remember hearing a rumor that the casinos pump oxygen into the room to avoid having people get bored. There are also no clocks anywhere where. I do not know if it's a coincidence, but as tired as me when we got off the plane, I did not need sleep. All traveling at the speed of sound, and I was ready to experience the road. The food was wonderful and the staff wherever we going was welcoming. Overruling my objection, my wife and I managed to catch one of the thousands of shows that put the beautiful world of Las Vegas, Cirque SOLE.
I saw the fountains of Bellagio and I saw one of the most amazing shows ever (yes, despite my objections, it is it was really worth to go). I bet and won, but nothing to make me leave my job and live the life of a player. I do not want it did not take me 17 years between my two visits, but, as always, I was happy to sleep in my bed.
